The Crying Bridge in Bangkok

Mahartthai-Uthis Bridge or Crying Bridge

It’s a bridge that built from the thought of H.M. King Rama V the great (King Chulalongkorn) as to give people more convenience. It’s very sad that his majesty pass away before it was built so HRH Prince Damrong Rajanubhab and government servant of the Ministry of Interior donated their money to build this bridge in memorial of his majesty.

The base-relief sculptures have shown the deepest sorrow of Thai people both adults and children who lost their beloved king.

It was opened for public use in October 23rd, 1910.
